HISTORY
Post Inc. was founded in 1898 as Super Distributing company by Bernard Segal and Joseph Postelnick, whose son Jack was the very first grocery buyer, along with the late Morris & Sam Steinberg, at Steinberg’s Stores in 1947, after serving with Canada’s Air Force overseas. Jack became President in 1951 and was succeeded upon his death in 1986 by his son Jeffrey who started with Steinberg’s in 1972 and worked his way from grocery bagger to cashier to warehouse truck driver to Grocery and Service Manger to Zone Manager.
Post Inc is Québec’s oldest Food Brokerage and is a founding member of most of Canada’s Food Trade organizations, including both the Canadian and Québec Food Brokers Associations, the Québec Restaurant Association, the Hotel & Restaurant Suppliers Association, and the Frozen Food Association, amongst others.
